RICHMOND HILL, Ga. () — The Georgia Power company will hold a five-hour long planned outage in Richmond Hill from 12:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 a.m. while repairs are made to Rushing Street.

The repairs come after a sinkhole opened last week on Rushing Street and Ford Avenue.

The midnight to dawn timeframe is a precaution, allowing for any unexpected delays.

During the repair, the Rushing Street intersection will temporarily become a four-way stop. The Richmond Hill Police Department (RHPD) will install temporary stop signs to clearly mark the change.

To enhance visibility, especially during the power outage, the city will be adding temporary light plants and extra signage near Starbucks to alert drivers to the four-way stop.

The City of Richmond Hill encourages increased safety and when traveling in this area.
