Since Deal or No Deal Island premiered, the reality show has become one of Peacock’s best shows. Thanks to how great Joe Manganiello is as a host, how blunt Seychelle Cordero is, and the fact that even the deleted scenes are great, DONDI is a must-see show. If that wasn’t enough, the Dr. Will Kirby effect boosted the show’s ratings thanks to things like his truly compelling “Golden Gods” feud with David Genat and their incredible confrontation.

Of course, the inclusion of the Survivor Hall of Famer Parvati Shallow after she struggled during The Traitors also made DONDI great. Considering how pivotal they both were to the show’s success, it is fascinating to see what Parvati told TheThings about her difficult relationship with Dr. Will.

Parvati Shallow Revealed That Dr. Will Kirby’s Antics Made Her Feel Like A Hostage

Throughout Parvati Shallow’s time as a reality show star, she almost seemed to have a superpower. Able to build connections seemingly with anyone, Parvati often used the bonds she constructed to manipulate her fellow competitors to do what she wanted.

When Parvati joined the cast of Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Parvati’s ability to build connections remained on display. Parvati’s connections with David Genat and Dickson Wong were even so tight that they called their alliance “The Family.”

However, from the moment that Dr. Will Kirby entered the game until he was eliminated, it was very clear that Parvati couldn’t stand him. With that in mind, it is fascinating that Parvati exclusively told TheThings that Dr. Will got under her skin by making her feel like a hostage.

In March 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas exclusively interviewed Parvati about her Deal or No Deal Island experience.

While talking to TheThings, Parvati was asked how she felt when Dr. Will pretended to take The Banker’s first offer when he played Deal or No Deal. It was then that Parvati explained that watching Dr. Will do that made her feel like a hostage.

“Ugh. I was just so annoyed with him. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a hostage-taking situation where you feel like you were being abducted by a kidnapper, but that’s really what it felt like. I was like, ‘Oh, now the kidnapper is getting all the power.'”

From there, Parvati went on to elaborate on how bothered she was by Dr. Will at that moment.

During the episode of Deal or No Deal Island that featured Dr. Will pretending to take the first offer, Parvati seemed really upset. That said, Parvati is known as a brilliant strategist. As a result, it can be hard for viewers to know for sure that she is really mad when she seems to be.

While talking exclusively to TheThings about Dr. Will pretending to take the first offer, Parvati completely confirmed that she was as angry as she seemed to be.

“It was like it was actually really triggering for me on a personal level. Because I felt trapped in there. And that is something that I rebel against that feeling in a big way. So when he slammed, he was like, ‘Deal!’ I was like, ‘Oh my god.'”

Parvati also went on to explain that she thought Dr. Will was full of c*** when he took the first offer. “The odds were in his favor so much. I was like, ‘Sure. If we can take this deal, put no money in the pot. All he’s been saying is how much he wants to beat the banker and bring all this money home, and I was like, this guy is so full of it.’ I was really super annoyed. I mean, you saw it in my reaction.”

Earlier, during the same exclusive TheThings interview, Parvati spoke about what it was about Dr. Will that got under her skin during Deal or No Deal Island.

In response, Parvati explained that she’d had some experiences in her life that changed the way she felt about Dr. Will’s behavior during the game.

“Look, I have had some different kinds of life experiences since the last time you saw me on television, and Dr. Will is a triggering personality type for me. It seemed like he was just disrespecting so many people and sucking all the air out of the room and making everything about him constantly.”

Parvati Shallow Revealed Her Reactions To Dr. Will Kirby Were Strategic And Genuine At The Same Time

In the years since Parvati Shallow played her first season of Survivor, she has competed with people she obviously didn’t like. Despite that, Parvati has seemingly been better at disguising her irritation in the past. That begs an obvious question. Why was Parvati so obvious about Dr. Will Kirby getting under her skin during Deal or No Deal Island?

While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Parvati Shallow revealed that while playing Deal or No Deal Island, she decided to be more true to herself. As a result, that means that Parvati was truly bothered by Dr. Will.

“The way that I was playing Deal or No Deal Island was very unfiltered. I was just letting myself be open to whatever emotional experience I was having at the time because it felt like I didn’t have to control myself or guard myself as much as I normally do when I played Survivor or when I played The Traitors. I was very emotionally contained and controlled.

But on Deal, I was like, ‘You know what? Screw it. I’m gonna just let it fly. And this guy, I felt like, was bullying people and disrespecting people and belittling them. And I was like, ‘I’m going to speak my mind in front of everyone because I want people to see that it’s not really okay for someone to do that.’ So that’s why I did it.”

However, Parvati also told TheThings that some of the times when she confronted Dr. Will were more strategic.

“Yes, it was strategy too because I wanted other people to get on board with me. But, you know, it was kind of both. But, yeah, he broke me the wrong way.”

Parvati Shallow Revealed That She Gets Along Great With Dr. Will Kirby Now

As Deal or No Deal Island has been airing, several of Dr. Will Kirby’s former castmates have revealed that they’ve become close with him after the game. In fact, when TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Maria-Grace “MG” Cook, Dr. Will interrupted because she was in his house at the time. Thankfully for Parvati and Dr. Will, it turns out that they have also made peace after Deal or No Deal Island.

When Parvati spoke to TheThings about her relationship with Dr. Will after the game, she immediately stated that his personality completely changed.

After confirming to TheThings that Dr. Will is different off the show, Parvati then stated that they get along now. Not only that, Parvati was very complimentary of Dr. Will as a human being.

“Once he dropped it, it was fine. I have no problem with Will. He’s a very friendly, very generous guy, who has been really kind to a lot of people from the cast. So totally opposite experience of Will from game to out of game.”

Considering that Dr. Will and Parvati are such legendary reality show stars, it is wonderful that they get along now.
