The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said the director was arrested on molestation charges following a months-long investigation Friday.

CRESCENT CITY, Fla. — A Putnam County daycare director has been accused of molesting a child, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said.

Palm Coast man Gonzalo Aragon, 35, was arrested on charges of molestation of a victim less than 12 years old by an offender 18 years or older on Friday.

Aragon is the director of The Future Little Learners Center in Crescent City, deputies said.

The victim attended the daycare and the abuse reportedly took place in the playground area, according to PCSO. The child reported it to a parent, who then contacted the sheriff’s office.

During the investigation, other children told deputies about seeing the victim on Aragon’s lap on the playground and that “he inappropriately touched the victim’s butt and other areas.”

“The statements corroborated the victim’s statements to detectives and the Child Protection Team interviewer,” a PCSO social media post said.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Aragon. He was taken to the Flagler County Jail and transferred to the Putnam County Jail on Monday. He has been denied bond.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 386-329-0800.
