DENVER (KDVR) This April, people can see a 7-foot-tall, saxophone playing sasquatch perform around Colorado.

The multi-instrumentalist, producer and electronic music artist, who keeps his anonymity as Saxsquatch, went viral with hundreds of millions of views on his social media platforms. He has produced music with famous musicians like Billy Ray Cyrus, and was a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s “That’s My Jam!,” but he never expected to become popular.

“I was like, ‘I really want to just put my stuff out.’ I wasn’t expecting everyone to like it. It took a while to believe it or not, but I think it felt really nice for people to believe in me for the first time, for a long time,” Saxsquatch said.

Saxsquatch said he’s had a few viral videos with 400 to 500 million views. One viral video he remembers, in particular, was of him playing jazz ballads and looping the Daft Punk song “One More Time” by a fire.

The musician said he came from a musical family where his grandfather played guitar and his sister was a flute player. Once he heard a saxophone on the radio, he became obsessed.

He got a saxophone from a pawn shop and started playing when he was a “baby squatch,” around 7 or 8 years old. Saxsquatch said he didn’t go public with his music until about six years ago, then he took off.

Now, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom said Saxsquatch has accumulated over 3 million followers online after releasing music with artists like John Oates, WAR, and songs with the electronic music label Monstercat. He also created theme music for the video game “Rocket League,” and had music featured in “Fortnite.”

Saxsquatch has been playing across the country, but his shows aren’t what you might expect. Saxsquatch said there are electronic beats with the saxophone, including a laser show and, of course, a 7-foot-tall sasquatch.

“For the show, I try to create a world where anyone can be what they believe in, you know?” Saxsquatch said.

Tickets to see Saxsquatch

Saxsquatch is playing in Denver at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom on April 17. He originally booked on The Other Side, but Cervantes said that after “overwhelming demand,” the concert was moved to the bigger side of the venue,

Saxsquatch is also playing in Fort Collins at the Aggie Theatre on April 16 and in Colorado Springs at The Black Sheep on April 18.
