() The White House condemned violence against Tesla owners after a website published what it said was personal information on Tesla owners across the U.S.

Called Dogequest, the website has since been taken down. It claimed to have personal details on Tesla owners, but that was not independently verified.

“We certainly think it’s despicable the violence that has been taken against Tesla the company, its employees and just Americans that have chosen to drive an electric vehicle,” said White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

She also noted that many Democrats drive electric vehicles and called on them to condemn the attacks, which have included arson at Tesla showrooms and service centers.

The arsons appear to be part of a broader surge of anti-Elon Musk sentiment. The billionaire, who has become a significant part of the administration of President Donald Trump, has been the face of controversial cuts to the federal government.

Tesla’s stock has dropped dramatically since the election as well, with Trump bringing Teslas to the White House in an event meant to promote the company, an unusual move for a president.

Tesla sales have also dipped, and investors have begun expressing concern about Musk’s leadership and whether he should step down because his political activities are hurting the company.

While it was up, the site showed a map with names, addresses and phone numbers of Teslas with an image of a Molotov cocktail for a cursor.

The owners said they would only remove information if people could provide proof they had sold their vehicle.

The website also listed the addresses of employees of the Department of Government Efficiency, which the administration has alternately claimed and denied was run by Musk.

Musk called the site an example of domestic terrorism on X.
