AUGUSTA, Ga. () – One man is dead after a shooting in Augusta on Wednesday, March 19.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the 1900 block of Dabney Drive at 11:02 a.m. They then located one adult male victim, who had been shot at least once on the 1800 block of Cooney Circle. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A second male victim, who had been shot at least once while while sitting in a vehicle on the 1900 Block of Dabney Drive, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. He has been identified as 28-year-old A’kki Pauley from Augusta, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy is scheduled.

RCSO said the investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
