The Brown family is returning to TLC. New episodes of Sister Wives will air in April 2025, following a nearly three-month hiatus that left fans of the long-running reality series frustrated and wondering when they’d next see the fractured polygamist family on TV.

‘Sister Wives’ returns to TLC on April 20

Sister Wives Season 19 has been on hiatus since early February. The mid-season finale ended on something of a cliffhanger, with Janelle Brown moving from Arizona to North Carolina for a fresh start, Robyn’s daughter Aurora considering embracing a new faith, and Meri considering her future following her spiritual divorce from Kody. 

Fans who haven’t been following the family’s ups and downs outside the show will get some answers about what’s next for the Browns when Sister Wives returns to TLC with five new episodes on Sunday, April 20 at 10 p.m. ET. 

What to expect from the upcoming episodes? Christine Brown and her new husband David Wooley will discuss her complicated relationship with polygamy, Janelle settles into her new life in North Carolina, and Meri considers her strained friendship with her former sister wife, Robyn. The family will also celebrate Aurora’s baptism, and Kody and Robyn will discuss whether they will continue to live a polygamous lifestyle following the end of his other three marriages. The Browns will also confront an unimaginable loss when Janelle and Kody’s son Garrison dies suddenly. 

A preview for the upcoming Sister Wives episodes also teases the continuing drama over the Coyote Pass property and Meri questioning whether her relationship with the “manipulative” Robyn was ever genuine. 

Is the ‘Sister Wives’ series finale on the horizon? 

Sister Wives Season 19 will wrap up with four tell-all episodes. Kody, Meri, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn will all sit down separately with host Sukanya Krishnan to discuss everything that went down during this tumultuous season. 

Once again, Kody is on the defensive during the tell-all. 

“I am so sick and tired of being guilted for loving Robyn” he says angrily. 

Meanwhile, Christine makes it clear she holds Kody responsible for the collapse of their plural family. 

“We were all abandoned,” she replies when Krishnan asks if she feels Kody abandoned Meri, his first wife. 

TLC has not made any announcement about the future of Sister Wives beyond the current season. But given the current state of affairs in the Brown family, it wouldn’t be surprising if their reality series – which premiered in 2010 – is nearly at an end. Three of Kody’s four marriages are over, and the original premise of following a plural family as they raise their children is no longer viable. With Kody and his exes scattered across the country and several people refusing to communicate with other former family members, there’s little glue to hold the show together, especially if Kody and Robyn decide to live monogamously, which they’ve indicated they plan to continue to do. At this point, Sister Wives may have run its course.
