NORTH AUGUSTA, Sc. ()- For nearly 70 years the North Augusta Public Safety Department was located on Buena Vista Ave.

Now they will be holding a ribbon cutting for the brand new building located on Georgia Ave.

The new headquarters on Georgia Avenue will have a full courtroom, more storage, a crime lab, a 911 dispatch center and more.

The overall budget for this project was twenty-five million dollars.

And the building took up just about 4 and a half acres of land.

Lieutenant Swann says North Augusta Public Safety is very proud to be in the new building.

“We’re very proud of this and we want to share it with the community and let them see it. We want everybody to be proud of it. It’s definitely a big step up for public safety. And we couldn’t have done this without our community and our administration from the city,” said Clay Swann.

The ribbon cutting is at 2 p.m. Tours for the public begin right after.
