Counting on the pollen in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, S.C. () – It’s spring, and around here that means one thing…

“Pollen, definitely pollen,” said Shawn Pagan.

Pollen…not a pleasure.

“Headaches, eye aches, tooth aches, body aches…but we’re still here,” said Keneth Jones.

Pollen. Look around it’s on the ground, you don’t have to look far to see it on a car.

“There’s a lot of it out there. It started early,” said Terry Jones.

“That pollen is a mess. Sooner or later I have to wear a mask on my nose,” said Thurman Garvin.

And sooner or later many will reach the breaking point and have to wash the car.

“Everything is coated in yellow, anything out there, it’s all yellow, I mean yellow is a good color but it’s not a color for me,” said Shawn.

The owner of this car knows the feeling. Pollen has no place on his wheels.

“I rinse it off in the morning, every day I rinse it off,” said Thurman.

And as the pollen piles up when do other drivers break down and get it washed?

“When the wife says ‘wash the car’, other than that we let if flow for a while. Give it a week or so,” said Terry.

But washing the car now is a just a band-aid.

“It will be on there before I leave the golf course today, for sure. It will be coated in yellow in about an hour,” said Shawn.

So why did you do it if you knew it would be coated again?

“Why not,” he said.

But some sing the praises of pollen.

“Got it have it…trees, flowers…it’s just love. God’s love, that’s what it is,” said Kenneth.

It’s green on your car though.

“Ain’t it though,” he said.

We’re awash in pollen, you can say it and spray it. Out there somewhere in Clearwater, George Eskola NewsChannel 6.
