Another wrote: “He was a great man who made great grills! May he RIP.” A third remarked: “I had not heard. George was not an old guy. It was very upsetting.”

Foreman was a two-time world heavyweight champion and won Olympic gold in Mexico City in 1968. He is one of the great second acts in sports, having reclaimed the heavyweight crown after retiring.

He fought in two of the most iconic boxing events of all time, taking on Joe Frazier in The Fight of the Century in 1971 and then Muhammad Ali in The Rumble in the Jungle in 1974.

Meanwhile, Shatner told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that will be celebrating his special day the same way he always has. He told the outlet: “For the last many years, I have celebrated my birthday by working on a very successful charity called The Hollywood Charity Horse Show.

“We have been doing it for 35 years and raised millions of dollars for children and veterans. My family is taking me to Las Vegas for dinner and a show, and then back to Los Angeles. It’s going to be a family experience in that wonderful, entertaining city. I’m really looking forward to it.”
