It looks like North Carolina State will be gaining some aura next season.

McNeese State student manager Amir Khan, who has gone viral, is reportedly expected to follow Will Wade to NC State for the upcoming NCAA season.

Khan will be a graduate assistant for the Wolfpack and will have other responsibilities that are not yet determined, according to CBS Sports.

This move comes just three days after Wade reached an agreement with NC State to take over as their newest head coach next season.

Wade made it clear that his players at McNeese State were in the loop about his decisions.

Wade informed reporters, “I disclose everything to my players, and they reciprocate by being completely open with me. Our relationship is built on transparency, and we have shared everything with each other.”

Despite an unexpected victory against Clemson in the initial March Madness round, McNeese State’s aspirations were dashed when they were defeated by Purdue with a score of 76-62 on Saturday.

Wade has previously credited part of the team’s success to Khan hyping up the players for each game.

“It gets our guys excited, it gets our guys off to a fast start, if you don’t get off to a start it’s hard to play well,” Wade said.

Khan gained rapid recognition when he was captured in a video, holding a boombox as he rallied the basketball team before a game in February, during his tenure as the athletic director at McNeese State.

In the weeks since, Khan — nicknamed “Aura” by members of McNeese State basketball team — emerged as a social media sensation at the start of the NCAA Tournament.

Because of his fame, Khan has become the first student manager to have his own name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal, garnering contracts with Buffalo Wild Wings, Insomnia Cookies, TickPick ahead of the NCAA Tournament.

Khan’s most recent NIL deal is with Topps trading cards, who announced he will also be featured on a limited-edition card.

“It means a lot. I never expected any attention as a manager, so to receive all of the love and support I received over the last few weeks really means a lot to me,” Khan said in an interview with Fox Sports. “But I’m really focused on trying to do what I do for the team and helping them do what they can on the court.”
