Police in New Mexico have arrested three people in connection with a deadly shooting at a Las Cruces park that left three people dead and 15 others wounded.

Las Cruces Police said they had arrested 20-year-old Tomas Rivas and two 17-year-old boys for the shooting, which happened Friday night at an unsanctioned car show at Young Park.

All three face three counts of murder, and a police spokesperson said additional charges are pending.

Police said Rivas and one of the juveniles were arrested on Saturday, and the second juvenile was taken into custody Sunday morning.

Las Cruces Police Chief Jeremy Story said that they shooting stemmed from an altercation between two groups of people who had “ill will” prior to the car show, as CrimeOnline reported.

Officials identified the fatalities as Dominick Estrada, 19; Jason Gomez, 18; and Andrew Madrid, 16. Police said Madrid and Gomez were pronounced dead on scene. Estrada was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In all, the victims ranged in age from 16 to 36. Nine of the wounded victims were male, and six were female. Several of the victims were taken to hospitals in El Paso for trauma treatment.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but they did not specify whether further arrests are expected.
