EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) — One Ohio woman is describing her pregnancy as a miracle and a mystery.

Katrina Wolf-James has two beautiful children — 3-year-old Casper and 1-year-old Guinevere — but she now has a third on the way. She’s 34 weeks pregnant but got medically sterilized after she gave birth to Guinevere.

“I was feeling sick after eating a bunch of Wendy’s and I’m like ‘Okay, it’s definitely the Wendy’s. It’s the fast food. It’s got to be,'” Wolf-James said. “I’m still tired after napping and iced coffee. My mother-in-law asks me ‘Could you be pregnant?’ and I’m like, ‘No, it’s medically impossible.”

After a c-section with Guinevere, she opted to have her fallopian tubes removed and cauterized, but nine months later, she found out she was pregnant again — something she believed was impossible.

‘She tells me it’s in the uterus and it has a heartbeat, and that was just insane to hear. I go to my OB-GYN who did the surgery. He’s very remorseful. I’m his first case in 35 years,” Wolf-James said.

Wolf-James has the medical records on hand and says she was shown her tubes after the procedure was finished. She and her husband were content with two kids, and right now, they have no answers to how it happened.

Despite the surprise and the confusion, she says it was meant to be.

“It’s easily the most traumatic thing to happen to me, but I mean I love my children, and she was meant to be here. Somebody said she really wanted me to be her mom, and it’s so sweet and perfect, but it’s definitely the biggest plot twist of my life,” Wolf-James said.

Wolf-James said they’re planning to name her Eleanor, and after she’s born, they’re hoping to get insight as to how it happened.
