In 2023, five undercover DEA agents investigated Scott Hollington’s addiction clinic. He has now been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A St. Augustine doctor convicted of exchanging narcotic prescriptions for sexual favors has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.

Scott Andrew Hollington, 59, was convicted of 14 counts of unlawfully distributing and dispensing controlled substances not for a legitimate medical purpose in the usual course of professional practice, and five counts of obstructing justice in July 2023.

According to testimony presented at the trial, the DEA learned of Hollington’s crimes from a tip to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office saying he was exchanging narcotics prescriptions for sexual favors, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida said.

Five undercover DEA officers visited Hollington’s addiction clinic between February and July 2022. Without a “legitimate medical need,” they obtained 17 prescriptions of schedule II, III and IV substances during those visits, including Adderall, Valium, Xanax and Suboxone.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Hollington asked the officers what drugs they prefer and offered prescriptions “without proper medical justification,” as well as admitted that he “did not care about urine drug screening results.”

The obstructing justice charges came from Hollington doctoring the medical records of the undercover officers.

More than 30 women accused Hollington of sexual misconduct in this case.

During the trial, one victim described him as a “monster,” who took advantage of her while she was seeking addiction treatment.
