She also commented, “It’s all for my grandparents and parents. I’ve seen their struggles with affording medicine as well as accessibility. I want to fix that problem in the Black and low-income communities in Atlanta.”

Gregory Minnis, the South Fulton County high school’s interim principal, said per the outlet that “Chase exemplifies excellence.”

Meanwhile, her college advisor, Sean Moore, told WSB-TV Atlanta that her success comes down to one thing: “Just hard work, hard work.”

While Matthews has yet to decide which college she will attend in the fall, her options include top institutions such as Florida A&M University, Howard University, Ohio State University, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Matthews’ history-making educational success has been getting attention and praise as her story has been shared by community representatives across the country. Well-known attorney, Ben Crump, shared an Instagram post about Matthews and commenters could not wait to congratulate her on her outstanding accomplishment.

One social media user commented, “I know this young lady will get that done. You are truly a bright light, and God will shine his light on your path to making your dreams a reality.”

Another commenter echoed the same sentiment that we all share for this tremendously talented young lady, “Congratulations. The BEST is yet to come!!! Keep shining bright.”
