ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A large crowd gathered for a “Tesla Takedown” protest Saturday morning in south St. Louis County, Missouri, holding signs and calling out CEO Elon Musk as part of a nationwide movement.

The protest began around 10 a.m. and was held outside the Tesla Dealership at 5711 South Lindbergh Boulevard.

In South County, protestors were seen holding signs such as “Dump Tesla,” “Drive Tesla out of Biz,” “No one elected Musk,” and “Wake Up, America.”

Demonstrations are reportedly planned at 500 Tesla dealerships on Saturday, mostly in the United States, as part of a “Global Day of Action” to protest Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency.

The department, more commonly known as DOGE, is an initiative of President Donald Trump’s second term that is led by Musk. It aims to reduce government spending and consolidate the federal workforce.

People participating in the “Tesla Takedown” protests are calling on Tesla vehicle owners and shareholders to sell their cars and stock, voicing frustrations over Musk’s connections to DOGE.

The demonstrations also come after various Tesla dealerships across the United States, including in Kansas City, have been vandalized in recent weeks. Despite this, organizers say Saturday’s protests would be peaceful.
