Scattered showers continue Sunday morning, a few t-storms possible by late afternoon

The Storm Team 11 Forecast calls for scattered showers to continue Sunday morning at times. The greatest threat of rain will be through late afternoon. A few thunderstorms will also be possible. The high will be around 77 degrees with a 60% rain chance. 

Scattered showers and maybe a few thunderstorms will be possible overnight Sunday into Monday. The low will be a mild 58 degrees with a 40% chance of rain.

Rain and thunderstorms are likely Monday morning and afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. The high will be around 69 degrees.

A few of those thunderstorms could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the western portions of our viewing area within a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather. Further to the east, the threat diminishes to a Marginal Risk (1/5) for the Tri-Cities. This outlook is valid through 8 a.m. Monday.

After 8 a.m. Monday, the outlook and risk shift east, encompassing all of the Tri-Cities within a Slight Risk (2/5) through the evening when the cold front swings through.

The primary threat will be damaging winds up to 60 mph. Although the threat of isolated tornadoes and small hail is low, it is NOT zero. The broken line of thunderstorms will need to be monitored closely as it moves through early Monday.

Scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms will be possible through the late afternoon. Scattered showers will continue Monday night with a low of 42 degrees.

Rainfall amounts through Monday night will range from 0.5 to 1 inch for most. Some places closer to the Appalachians could see a little less, with locations further to the northwest receiving possibly a tad more.

Tuesday will be cooler behind the departing system with clouds breaking through the afternoon. The high will be 67 degrees. Partly cloudy skies are forecast late Tuesday night. The low will be 48 degrees.

Wednesday, the highs will recover a bit to around 74 degrees. Showers will be possible early Wednesday evening. Showers will continue overnight at times. The low will be 58 degrees.

Thursday, we will see mostly sunny skies with a hot afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible. The chance of rain will be 20% with a high of 85 degrees.

Friday will feature a 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. The high will be 80 degrees. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue into Friday night with a low of 58 degrees.

Highs will remain very mild into next Saturday with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. The high will be around 81 degrees.
