Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with friendship tensions involving Sutton Stracke. Even her best-known friend on the show, Garcelle Beauvais, called her out for not being as supportive as Sutton is with Kyle Richards. Right before the finale aired, Garcelle announced her exit from the reality TV show.
Just as she was starting to get her feelings heard, the actress decided to leave the series for a “new chapter.” But in the trailer for the reunion, it seemed like things got heated between her and the cast. Erika Jayne later said they knew Garcelle had quit for “two weeks” during the reunion.
Garcelle Beauvais Announced She’s Leaving RHOBH To Focus On New Projects
Garcelle’s Exit Comes After Standing Up For Herself Against The Cast
In an Instagram clip, Garcelle announced that she was leaving the show, saying her family is the main reason for her departure. “One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys,” she said. “Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that. And Jaid is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that, too.”
She also teased that she has “the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in—I can’t tell you anything now but you’ll know soon.”
Garcelle went on to thank her co-stars (without naming them individually), the producers, and her loyal supporters. “You guys have cheered me on, supported me, and sometimes even fought for me or on my behalf,” she said of her fans. “It means a lot and I hope you guys will continue on this journey with me.”
Garcelle also clarified that there’s no beef between her and Andy Cohen—who famously disregarded her feelings in the past seasons amid cast feuds. “Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, the door will always be open, so you never know, I might pop back in sometime,” said Garcelle. “It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. So see you later.”
Garcelle “felt pressure” as the first Black housewife on RHOBH when she joined in Season 10. But she did a great job despite some viewers calling her “boring.” And from what fans have seen in Season 14, she seems to be leaving on a high note and on her own terms after finally fighting back.
Garcelle Beauvais Stormed Off The RHOBH Season 14 Reunion
Garcelle Reached Her Quitting Point During The Reunion
In the trailer for the reunion, Garcelle was seen storming off the set and cursing out her co-stars. “I am just so f****** sick of it,” she said. After changing out of her goddess-like pearl dress, she stated: “I can’t be friends with people like that. I don’t trust them. They’re all f****** a******.”
Aside from not feeling supported by Sutton (and other cast members, really), Garcelle also has an unresolved feud with Dorit Kemsley. The latter got the Black Girl Mising star to admit Dorit was “not her favorite person” early on in Season 14—at the height of Dorit and Kyle’s dispute.
In the reunion, Dorit slammed Garcelle for her insinuations that her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, staged their home robbery in 2021. During the incident, Dorit was held at gunpoint while pleading not to harm her kids. She later suffered from PTSD, which strained her marriage with PK.
RHOBH Stars Had A Shady Response To Garcelle Beauvais’ Exit
Some RHOBH Stars Haven’t Shown Public Support Amid Garcelle’s Exit
Only a couple of RHOBH stars commented on Garcelle’s exit announcement on Instagram. “Congratulations to your next chapter,” Sutton wrote. “Can’t wait to see what’s up your sleeve. Nothing but greatness. This I know. 😽💗💗💗”
Friend of the housewives, Jennifer Tilly also commented: “Oh my God! Garcelle, We will really miss you! 🥺 You brought so much integrity and warmth and humor to the franchise. ❤❤❤”
Andy applauded Garcelle’s announcement, writing, “an incredible run from an incredible human ❤️🙌👏 BRAVO.”
But things got shady when Erika and newcomer Bozoma Saint John were asked about Garcelle’s decision on Watch What Happens Live. The reality stars paused before Boz said: “I am disappointed that she is departing like this (referring to the reunion). I wish that she would have stuck around to work out another season.”
Boz also took to her Instagram Story to pay Garcelle a tribute, which fans deemed “too corporate.” Erika, on the other hand, just said they’d known for “two weeks,” that Garcelle had quit during the reunion. Dorit, Kyle, and Kathy Hilton haven’t publicly reacted to the news as of this writing.
