Glynn County shots fired arrest

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () – The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) has arrested one man in connection with a fire that occurred over the weekend.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, GCPD and the Glynn County Fire Department (GCFD) responded to a report of arson at 10400 Canal Crossing. According to witnesses, an individual was igniting book bags inside the store.

The suspect was identified as 44-year-old James Morris. By the time GCPD was on the scene Morris had fled the store and entered a neighboring business within the same shopping plaza. GCPD officers quickly located the suspect and took him into custody.

James Morris has been charged with the following offenses:

· 1st Degree Arson (Felony)

· 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property (Felony)

Store employees were able to extinguish the fire with assistance from the GCFD, which confirmed the area was safe and free of further hazards.

No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
