JOHNSON CITY, Tenn — “Whether it’s basketball, it’s baseball, it’s football, we’re going to be all Vol here in Johnson City,” were the proud words of Vols fan J.R. Tinch Sunday.
Tinch attended a watch party for the Vols on Sunday, where the team was eliminated from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament after losing 69-50 to Houston in an Elite Eight game.
“We were excited going into it,” he said. “It didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to, but hey, Tennessee has given us a great season. You know, football, baseball, basketball. So we rode this as far as we could go.”
The watch party took place at Yee-Haw Brewing Company, a venue familiar with fans in orange and white.
“You can’t get me a better place than this to watch the game [than] from Yee-Haw,” Tinch said. “So this is one of the official watch party places. So it doesn’t matter whether we were coming in from behind, we knew that going in, but everybody stayed strong. We’re all here. We’re all here till the finish.”
