Teddi Mellencamp’s “Horrible Diagnosis” Amid Cancer Battle Has Her Preparing Her Kids For The Worst: Report

Reality star Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer journey may have taken a turn for the worse.

According to a recent article from Radar Online published in The Daily Mail, it was claimed that the reality TV personality from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is getting her children, Slate aged 12, Cruz aged 10, and Dove aged five, ready for a future without her due to the advancement of her cancer.

“Teddi is a fighter – anyone who has watched Real Housewives can attest to that,” an inside source told the outlet. “But it just saps her fighting spirit to think she had beaten this, only to receive another horrible diagnosis. She had told her children that mommy’s sick, but she is going to be okay, and now it’s tearing her up to lay out the dark truth to them.”

In early February, Mellencamp announced doctors found “multiple tumors” in her brain after she had been suffering from “severe and debilitating headaches” for several weeks that became “unbearable.” She then underwent surgery and radiation to remove the tumors, though she later shared doctors were unable to remove “multiple tumors” from her brain.

“I am feeling positive— that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina [Jolie]‘s kids’ names,” she said at the time. “Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off cancer!”

This was just the latest round of treatment and surgeries Mellencamp has undergone over the years. She first announced her stage 2 melanoma diagnosis in 2022.

Mellencamp has been very candid about her cancer journey on social media, sharing updates from medical appointments and her personal time with her family.

In December 2024, she celebrated on social media after she went for a three-month skin check and did not have to have a biopsy for the first time in over two years.

“The anxiety always takes over; the thought of another biopsy, another surgery, another addition to the scar on my back,” she said at the time. “And I always end up crying. But today the tears were those of joy. Because for the first time, there wasn’t anything abnormal, nothing that needed an extra look. And I am grateful.”

According to Radar’s inside source, Mellencamp is trying to remain optimistic.

The source added, “Teddi does her very best to remain optimistic through her ordeals, but her main thought is with her family and beating this cancer for their sake.”
