Donald Trump’s dinner with comedian and critic Bill Maher ‘could not have been better,’ Kid Rock has claimed. 

Kid Rock organized the meeting between the President Trump and his liberal critic Maher in an effort to ‘have a little more civility in this country and try and bring people together,’ the rocker explained on Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning.

The dinner was attended by being Kid Rock, who also appeared in the Oval Office as Trump signed a ticket scalping executive order, Trump, Maher and UFC CEO Dana White.

‘Everyone was so surprised, so pleasant,’ Kid Rock gushed. 

‘And the president was so gracious. He took us up to the private residence. 

‘We saw the Gettysburg address in the Lincoln Bedroom.’ 

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, said he was surprised that Maher had never received a White House tour despite donating millions to Democrat politicians.

‘And I was like, ‘How about this, President Trump, you know, extending this olive branch?” Ritchie said.

‘And we talked about things we had in common … wokeness, securing the border,’ he continued. 

‘The president was asking him what he thought about policy, you know, going on with Iran and Israel and things.’

 ‘It blew my mind. It was, I was, you know, very, very proud,’ Kid Rock said. 

Trump and Maher’s beef goes back more than a decade. 

In 2013, Trump sued Maher for $5 million after the comedian said on The Tonight Show that the only thing in nature to match Trump’s hair was the fur of an orangutan. 

The Politically Incorrect and Real Time host offered $5 million to the charity of Trump’s choice, which he said was ‘Hair Club for Men,’ if Trump was able to produce a birth certificate proving that he wasn’t half-ape. 

This came after Trump had publicly spread the so-called ‘birther’ conspiracy theory, which pushed that President Barack Obama, the nation’s first black president, was born in Kenya and not his native Hawaii. 

Maher told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Friday that he had the ‘credentials’ to have this kind of meeting with Trump because while he’s been extremely critical of the current president, he’s mocked the left too.  

‘There was nobody who was harder on Trump or more prescient about the fact that he wasn’t going to leave office voluntarily than I was,’ Maher said. ‘I feel like I have the credentials.’ 

‘But they also respect me because I’m honest about the woke train to crazytown,’ Maher said of the MAGA movement. 

Maher’s publicist did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for details on the Monday night dinner. 

Kid Rock said ‘100 percent’ Maher walked away from the dinner liking Trump. 

‘Me and Dana both said there was like – there’s never been anybody who’s ever met the president in any scenario that’s walked away without saying, wow what a great guy. He’s so funny, he’s so engaging, he’s so smart,’ the rocker said. 

Kid Rock said Maher was wowed by the meeting and that Trump called him ‘late night’ to debrief. 

‘We’re just trying to show people that even if we’ve been pretty hard on each other, that when you get face to face, maybe we can have a little more civility in this country and try and bring people together,’ Kid Rock said. ‘That was my whole intention.’
