A father from New Jersey admitted to authorities that he accidentally left his 4-month-old son in the backseat of his hot mini-van for two hours while he was at yeshiva. During this time, his wife and the babysitter were trying to reach him with no success.

Moshe Ehrlich forgot to bring his baby’s milk when he left the house on March 18 to drop off four of his six children. He only realized his mistake when he reached the babysitter’s home, as per details in an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post.

Ehrlich decided to drop the other three children off before heading back to his Lakewood home for the baby’s milk — which he did.

Upon realizing the situation, the 35-year-old man went back to the Toyota van, drove straight to a yeshiva on Princeton Avenue where he is a student, and parked the van outside, according to the contents of the arrest affidavit.

The van was left in direct sunlight, and investigators said temperatures in the vehicle reached 96 degrees.

Outside temps that day reached a high of 63 degrees.

Alarms were raised after the baby’s babysitter texted the child’s mother, inquiring about the missing boy’s whereabouts.

However, Ehrlich’s wife didn’t see the message for over an hour, according to the affidavit.

The babysitter and Ehrlich’s wife then started texting and calling him in vain.

The babysitter’s teenage son went searching for Ehrlich, finding his van outside the yeshiva.

By the time first responders arrived at the scene, the child was unresponsive, it was alleged in the affidavit.

The infant boy, whose name hasn’t been released, was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where he was pronounced dead.

Ehrlich was arrested on March 20 after surrendering to police, and charged with child endangerment. He was released by a judge hours later.

The family did not respond to messages left by The Post.
