Queen of Versailles star Jackie Siegel has suffered another heartbreaking family tragedy, just two days after the death of her husband.

Siegel, 59, revealed her sister Jessica Mallery died from an accidental drug overdose of cocaine laced with fentanyl on Monday aged just 43.

According to Siegel, Jessica’s passing serves as another poignant reminder of the widespread drug problem and fentanyl emergency affecting our nation. This underscores the pressing need to tackle substance abuse effectively to prevent further loss of lives.

She expressed that her world has been shattered once more by this recurring issue, which her family is unfortunately all too familiar with. Tragically, her daughter Victoria lost her life to a drug overdose in 2015 at the young age of 18.

‘Our family appreciates everyone’s love, support and prayers, and we ask for privacy during this extremely difficult time.

As per the family’s request, Jessica’s organs are being donated to help others within our community.

Jessica’s death came two days after Siegel’s husband David Alan Siegel died on Saturday,

The reality star shared the sad news in a loving post Saturday on Instagram. 

‘I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that my husband, David Alan Siegel, passed away this morning,’ she wrote. 

‘I consider myself fortunate to have shared twenty-five beautiful years with David, and together we have raised eight exceptional children. His influence and memory continue to thrive through all of them.’

Jackie married the Westgate Resorts owner in 2000 and shared Daniel, Debbie, Drew, David, Jordan, Jacqueline, Jonquil and Victoria. Sadly, Victoria died of a drug overdose in 2015, and the couple started a non-profit in her name. 

‘To say we are devastated is an understatement, the grieving widow wrote adding, ‘But I find comfort in knowing that Victoria was there to greet him—the first thing he heard was “Dad,” followed by a big hug.’

‘And of course, Steven [David’s son from his first marriage] is there too. That thought brings me so much peace.’

‘I know you all loved him too, which is why I wanted to share this with you,’ she told her many followers and fans. ‘Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time. It means the world to us.’

She concluded writing, ‘Life is a precious gift from God—and my husband has found his peace with Him. Embrace and cherish every moment—and thank God.’

Jackie and her family rose to stardom the 2012 documentary Queen of Versailles, which focused on her efforts to build a lavish mansion inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France. 

Camera crews caught up with their efforts a decade later in Queen of Versailles Reigns Again. 

A Broadway musical based on their story debuted in 2024. 

Kristen Chenowith, who originated the role as Jackie in the stage production extended her condolences writing, ‘Sending all my love.’

Fellow reality star Jill Zarin also responded. ‘I’m so sad for you and the family and sending so much love and prayers. ❤️❤️❤️’ Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Shannon Beador wrote, ‘I am so sorry!!!  Sending prayers to your family!’

The Victoria’s Voice Foundation, the charity named for their late daughter, has advocated for coverage of drug rehab treatment to be extended from the standard 30 days to 90 days to improve outcomes.

The organization also lobbied Congress to implement for the widespread availability of Naloxone, a lifesaving medicine that can save the lives by blocking the effects of opioids.
