AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The plane has landed, passengers have exited, and the excitement has set in: It’s Masters week.

Each day this week, Delta expects 1,900 passengers coming into Augusta Regional Airport, with most of them being patrons ready to get to Augusta National Golf Club.

Lucky for passengers and patrons flying into Augusta Regional Airport– through Delta– they don’t have to wait too long to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the iconic course.

“The Masters itself, you don’t know if you’ll ever gonna be able to go there. It’s a once in a lifetime experience, so as soon as you get off the plane and you see this, you really feel like it is an all-encompassing thing and it’s really nice to see,” Masters Patron Colby Maiola said.

As a tournament partner of the Masters, Delta has created an ‘Immersive Masters Experience’ for guests to enjoy upon arrival.

“Starts from, actually on the aircraft, right. With our mainline aircraft that have the ability to watch the Masters, livestream it on the aircraft as well. So, you can see it the entire flight and then once you land, now you start feeling that you’re at the Masters and you’re walking right onto the green from the moment you step off the aircraft onto the jet bridge,” ACS Field Director for RAM Stations at Delta Airlines Andrew Wheatley said.

From there, you’ll see walls decorated with Masters-themed posters, smell the fresh scent of Azaleas and the various playing holes on the course.

“Just the atmosphere down here. You just have everyone involved with the Masters, you go anywhere and there’s people with Augusta shirts on or some form of Masters paraphernalia,” Maiola said.

In Will Brown’s case, it’s his bachelor’s trip with his buds. He and his friends say while their Masters experience was a two for one, it was definitely one of one.

“We just got lucky. Will here won some tickets and we rolled in with some friends… the food, the merch, kind of just the overall experience. Everyone down here has been so nice, so polite– it’s been great, we have no complaints,” Masters Patron Ryan Kennedy said.

Delta and airport staff want to make sure patrons and guests get the full experience at takeoff, during the flight and once you land.
