BBC Breakfast viewers were pleased to see Naga Munchetty back at the helm of the hit morning show on Thursday (10 April). The TV presenter teamed up with Charlie Stayt to host the new instalment of BBC Breakfast, where the duo brought viewers the latest headlines, weather updates and breaking news.

While there was plenty to discuss, BBC viewers at home were more distracted by Naga’s return. She typically hosts the programme alongside Charlie from Thursday to Saturday, but last week Nina Warhurst replaced her on the red sofa.

Viewers were thrilled to see Naga return, with one person writing on X: @TVNaga01 nice to see you battling with Charlie again,” and a second added: “Yay! @BBCBreakfast good to see TVNaga01 back on the red sofa today. We’ve missed you!”

A third said: “@BBCBreakfast great to see @TVNaga01 on this mornings show. Always so professional.”

More comments flooded in throughout the show, with another BBC viewer writing: “@TVNaga01 Morning – nice to have you back on the telly – to me the world seems a calmer place when you’re at the helm….thanks.”

Another message read: “@TVNaga01 morning nice to see you back on the sofa . Have you been on holiday you look very well.”

The reason for Naga’s absence last week remains undisclosed, and she has kept quiet about the matter on social media.

Neither Nina nor Charlie addressed the change at the start of the show, despite fans on social media questioning where the TV star was and some even fearing she’d left BBC Breakfast for good.

Naga’s first show back was jam-packed with important discussions and pressing news, as well as interviews with several guests.

Thursday’s show featured segments on the calls for mobile phones to be banned in schools, King Charles and Camilla’s visit to Italy, the latest of Donald Trump’s tariffs, an interview with Home Secretary Yvette Cooper regarding the Prime Minister’s new crime prevention measures, as well as plenty other discussions.

BBC Breakfast airs at 6am on BBC One on weekdays
