These new critters are really making a splash.

The Long Island Aquarium is giving the public the opportunity to name a lovable set of siblings, consisting of two pairs of boy and girl North American river otters, for a heartwarming cause.

“We have selected 4 names inspired by fruits for the two females, in memory of their grandmother, Jelly, who resided at the Aquarium from 2008 onwards,” shared spokesperson Darlene Puntillo with The Post, referring to the otter who succumbed to cancer several years ago.

The choices are between Cherry, Fig, Kiwi, and Peach for girls, and for boys, there are Cashew, Pecan, Pistachio, and Walnut.

The four male nut-themed names are “to honor these otters’ grandfather, Peanut Butter.”

These siblings were delivered last February to Flo, the popular female otter, and her partner, Stark. The aquarium characterized the duo as a lively duo that is “extremely energetic.”

Now coming into their own, the polls are open on the marine life center’s website where fans can pick from four different food-themed names for the pups.

Nearly 4,000 people have already voted.

“Guests can vote as often as they like, and the winning names will be announced on Mother’s Day,” added Puntillo.

As the aquarium celebrates its 25th anniversary, Flo and her offspring can be seen at the 1,500 square foot “Otter Falls” exhibit, which also features a nine-foot waterfall until fall of 2026.

North American river otters typically weigh up to 35 lbs. and grow up to five feet tall. They typically live 10 to 20 years.

Stark, who was born in 2013, has yet to meet his kids for safety reasons as they learn to walk and swim.

“Once the pups can swim safely, we can begin introductions with Stark,” Puntillo added.
