An Illinois man was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with aggravated assault on a police office and resisting arrest after he allegedly charged at an office with a ukelele.

A criminal complaint accused Ledreck K. Kekona, 41, of “wielding a ukulele, as it was held in a raised and cocked position, holding it by the arm of the instrument” and leading the officer to believe “he was going to be struck by the musical instrument,” the Northwest Herald reported.

The complaint said the resisting charged stemmed from his refusal to put his arms behind his back.

The complaint did not say why police were dealing with Kekona to begin with.

McHenry County Judge Cynthia Lamb released Kekona on Thursday with conditions that included not possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon and submitting to pretrial supervision. She did not say if she considered a ukelele a dangerous weapon.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 8.
