Inside Loose Women 'feud' as ITV stars banned from Linda Nolan's funeral in bitter fallout

Linda Nolan tragically died from pneumonia in January, aged 65, and in an explosive revelation it has been claimed the Loose Women cast were banned from attending her funeral due to an unresolved seven-year feud. Coleen Nolan’s close friends Brenda Edwards and Ruth Langsford did not attend Linda’s funeral service. This is not the first time the ITV daytime show has been at the centre of a bitter fallout with claims of co-stars falling out and backstage feuds.

Former pop icon Linda is claimed to have told pals about her experience on the show in the aftermath of the infamous Kim Woodburn row. The Nolan sister had supported her sister Coleen, 60, who is a regular panellist on Loose Women, during a 2018 episode of the daytime show. It came after Coleen appeared on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Kim Woodburn, 81, in 2017 where she was accused of “bullying” by the former cleaner.

Kim was then invited onto the ITV lunchtime chat show to clear the air but any chance of reconciliation disappeared when she ended up storming off after a row.

The huge on-screen clash sparked 8,000 Ofcom complaints with the sisters bearing the brunt of the public backlash which resulted in Coleen taking time off of Loose Women.

Linda had also publicly claimed she was “ghosted” by the Loose Women cast after the on-air drama.

A source told The Sun: “Linda couldn’t forgive the Loose Women over what happened.

“She purposely chose to ban everyone who worked on the show from attending her funeral – she had planned her own service prior to her death and she made it very clear she didn’t want them there.”

Confirming her feud with Loose Women in 2023, Linda told Woman Magazine: “I’ve had a bit of a falling out with them. I didn’t get a phone call from anyone to apologise and I just thought ‘I don’t want to be treated like that’. We were set up.

“I’m over it now, but I was sad to be treated like that.”

Linda never returned to Loose Women after her 2018 appearance.

Coleen and Linda’s remaining siblings attended her funeral alongside Coleen’s ex husband Shane Richie, comedian Tommy Cannon, kids TV legend Paul Chuckle, 911’s Lee Brennan and singer Lisa Maffia.

The Loose Women panellist previously joked about Linda having a banned list of funeral attendees, telling the Mirror: “Linda wants everyone in black, weeping and wailing.

“Linda will probably have a list of people she doesn’t want at her funeral – there are a lot of people Linda doesn’t like!”

Linda Nolan’s representatives declined to comment.
