Effingham County offers microchip scans for lost animals

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. () — The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Humane Enforcement is currently offering microchip scans for lost animals in several locations.

The office announced on Facebook Saturday that this service is for scanning a lost or found animal for a chip, not to get your animal chipped.

Chip scans will be offered at the following locations:

  • Effingham County Fire Rescue Station 9 at 737 Roebling Road, Bloomingdale
  • Effingham County Fire Rescue Station 12 at 1171 Highway 119 North, Clyo
  • Effingham County Fire Rescue Station 13 at 91 Springfield Avenue, Guyton
  • Effingham County Fire Rescue Station 16 at 109 Goshen Commercial Park

These are completely free to use and enables lost pets to be reunited with their owners without having to be sheltered.

No appointment is necessary for these services.
