Is the 118 about to lose its heart?

As if 9-1-1 fans weren’t already stressed enough about the second half of the “Contagion” arc, here comes another gut-punch: Peter Krause was slated to appear on Good Morning America next week (4/18), but his name has been removed from the show’s press site.

TVLine has also confirmed that the May 1 episode (airing at 8 p.m. ET on ABC) is titled “The Last Alarm.”

And in the world of first responders, that phrase hits hard. A “last alarm” isn’t just poetic — it’s a ceremonial send-off for someone leaving the job… or leaving this world. Either way, it spells major change, and frankly? It has us sweating.

SPOILER ALERT!: Recent behind-the-scenes footage shows a formal ceremony being filmed, with Athena and her kids dressed in black — not exactly casual attire. But here’s the kicker: Bobby’s nowhere to be found in those scenes. Naturally, fan theories are swirling. Is he retiring? Or… is it something far worse?

Krause’s GMA appearance recently began circulating on social media, revealed by an X user just yesterday (March 11):

But ABC has since removed the actor’s name from the show’s press site, see below:

Back during Bobby’s crisis with Wendell at the end of Season 6, TVLine asked Krause if Bobby might be nearing the end of his run, or if he was in it for the long haul.

“I think he’d like to [stay],” Krause said at the time. “That’s his family, and I think he would like to remain there as their father figure. I think I can speak for both Angela [Bassett] and I when I say that it’s been fun for both of us to be mom and dad on this show. It really is a terrific bunch. This is a difficult show to make, and without everyone working together, it would be really, really hard. We all have each other’s back behind the scenes.”

That was a lifetime ago. Since then, Bobby’s been through hell — literally. He barely escaped a house fire, nearly drowned with Athena on a sinking cruise ship, and now? He’s trapped in a lab that’s going up in flames with a deadly virus in the air. After all that, who wouldn’t start rethinking their future?

If a major turning point is coming for Bobby, let’s hope it’s retirement — not a funeral. 9-1-1 has never been afraid to rip our hearts out, but losing Bobby for good? That’s a hit the fandom might not recover from.
