Kim Kardashian unsuccessfully tried to buy back a bible that belonged to her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., that was in the hands of O.J. Simpson’s estate – and a source exclusively tells In Touch the whole family is panicking over what else The Juice may have left behind that could yet come back to haunt them from beyond the grave.
According to the source, the man at the center of “The Trial of The Century” 30 years ago, who died in April 2024 from prostate cancer, had hung onto his old friend Robert’s bible for decades. The Kardashian patriarch, a lawyer by trade, was on O.J.’s “dream team” defense council by special request of the NFL star-turned-criminal, despite not having much trial experience at the time. Even after the Dragnet 1986 star’s death, his estate is still fighting to keep hold of some of his things.
“Kim was determined to get this bible back for sentimental reasons,” the source says. “Even seeing her dad’s handwriting means the world to her, but it’s also a part of his legacy. She didn’t want it in the hands of a stranger.” Unfortunately for the SKIMS founder, 44, she lost out on a bid for the bible. She had put up $15,000 for the artifact, though another, anonymous bidder topped her with a staggering $80,000 offer. The bible was sold on March 29.
Despite the heartbreak of losing out on that particular item, Kim is anxious to discover any other incredibly personal items still in their possession, as there are likely many correspondences between the two that O.J. had kept.

“The stressful part is that, as of now, she has no way of knowing what else O.J. may have saved from her dad. They exchanged so many private letters over the years, there’s no way of knowing what Robert Sr. may have written to O.J.,” the source adds. “It’s horrifying for Kim and the whole family to think that his private correspondence may end up in the public eye, they’re scrambling to get ahead of this.”
Since the disgraced running back’s demise last year, O.J.’s estate has been fighting on multiple fronts, including suing the athlete-actor’s son, Justin Simpson. Malcolm LaVergne, the administrator of the estate, claims Justin, who is also a licensed real estate agent, used his company, Primary Holdings LLC, to illegally purchase the property — where his dad resided during his final days — in 2022. They allege Justin moved into the home after O.J.’s death and refused to vacate the premises or pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity. He disagrees and is battling the rest of the inheritors over the rights to the property in court — creating even more chaos around the Heisman-winner’s estate that Kim will eventually have to wade into if she wants more of her father’s personal items back.
Robert Sr. met the star athlete back in their college days when they both attended USC in the 1960s, becoming fast friends. They would eventually launch several joint business ventures together, including Juice Inc., a frozen yogurt company, and Concert Cinema, a music video production business. O.J. even served as an usher in Robert’s wedding to Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner in 1978. Robert trusted O.J. and vice versa, which is why Kim is now worried about what personal secrets could still be hidden within his estate.
