Man's hand cut off in Coffs Harbour

A man’s hand was cut off during an assault on the New South Wales Mid North Coast earlier today.

Police were called to a home on Toormina Place in Coffs Harbour around 6.45am after reports a man’s hand was severed.

Paramedics then found a 59-year-old man at the scene with a brutal injury.

He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two women, aged 58 and 80, were also at the home at the time but were not injured.

Police said two men, one of whom is known to the victim, had assaulted him before fleeing the scene.

No arrests have been made and a crime scene has been established.

Police are now looking for the men and have asked anyone with information or footage of the incident to contact Coffs Harbour Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
