A 42-year-old stepfather in Florida was arrested this week after he allegedly punished his 10-year-old stepdaughter by forcing her hand onto a hot stove that was so hot authorities said they could see the impression of the burner coil on her skin. Georgy Almony was taken into custody on Monday and charged with one count of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm, records reviewed by Law&Crime show.
The victim’s mother, 36-year-old Milliene Adeclat, was also arrested after authorities say she found out what Almony did to her daughter and did not report the abuse. She was charged with one count of child neglect causing great bodily harm, as well as an additional count of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer for allegedly pushing and punching police when they tried to place her under arrest.
According to a report from Miami Fox affiliate WSVN, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the family’s home in the unincorporated area of Biscayne Gardens. The victim was at the house with Almony and her brother while Adeclat was at work.
Almony reportedly became irate with the victim and decided to punish her in the allegedly torturous manner because she pushed her brother.
That’s when Almony allegedly grabbed the child by the arm and “dragged her into the kitchen,” Miami ABC affiliate WPLG reported. He then allegedly “placed her hand on the stove top oven, burning her hand, causing injuries,” police wrote in a probable cause affidavit.
The affidavit reportedly noted that “the victim’s skin came off where she was burned,” adding that it left “a burn mark of the coil on her hand.
After the victim “screamed in pain,” she grabbed Almony’s cellphone, ran into her bedroom, and called her mother to tell her what had happened, WPLG reported. But despite learning about the abuse her daughter suffered at the hands of Almony, authorities say that Adeclat did nothing.
It was not until the victim reportedly went to school on Monday, when a teacher spotted her injured hand, that police were called.
Almony and Adeclat were taken into custody and transported to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Intracoastal Station for questioning, though authorities said neither provided any useful information. Almony reportedly refused to speak to investigators while Adeclat simply denied any allegations levied against her, per WPLG.
Adeclat and Almony were both transported and processed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Adeclat was released after posting a bond of $1,500. Almony was released on a bond of $7,500. Both are scheduled to appear in court again on May 14, online records show.
