Three shots hit the windscreen and one hit the car’s bonnet, police revealed.

The pursuit was abandoned due to speed and the fugitive was allegedly found hiding in a backyard shed in North Bondi.

Lau Toro, a resident near the dumped stolen Audi, alerted police to his whereabouts more than five hours after the initial incident.

“He was sleeping and I was like ‘who is this guy?’ I tried to call the police and then I saw the (police) car,” Toro told 9News.

It’s alleged the car was stolen from Double Bay at around 3.20am yesterday.

The man, 24, was arrested and charged with four offences, including stealing a car, not stopping for police, breaking and entering, and resisting assault.

Two outstanding arrest warrants were also executed.
