HUMBOLT, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police said a portion of Interstate 57 is down to one lane following a semi-truck crash in Coles County.
State Police is urging drivers to use caution while traveling on I-57 southbound at milepost 198. At this time, lanes are being reduced to one lane in the area, the passing lane.
Additionally, the 1st Class Wrecker towing service, with assistance from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), is actively recovering an overturned truck tractor and semi-trailer at this location.
Motorists are urged to either use caution or seek an alternative route if feasible at this time.
HUMBOLT, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police responded to a semi-truck crash with injuries in Coles County Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 12:54 p.m., State Police Troop 7 responded to Interstate 57 southbound at milepost 198 in Humbolt for the report of a single-unit crash involving a rolled over truck tractor semi-trailer. Additionally, injuries were reported on scene, but the extent of these injuries is unknown at this time.
The semi is currently off the roadway and has been marked. Due to the low visibility currently on I-57, the semi will be removed from the scene on Monday.
