Most fans of the series dislike Kody Brown’s fourth wife, but views about her motivations and just how culpable she is in the demise of the Browns’ plural marriage differ. Jenn Sullivan, Meri Brown’s close friend, has an insider take on Robyn and how she mistreated Meri. She even has some advice for Robyn; she implores the emotional mother of five to either “be an a*****e or don’t.”

Meri and Kody’s strained relationship angered fans and friends

Meri Brown and Kody Brown’s marriage, which began in 1990, was the cornerstone of the Brown family’s polygamous structure featured on TLC’s Sister Wives. While they presented a united front during the show’s early seasons, it was clear their relationship had fractured the moment Robyn Brown came on the scene.

While Meri and Kody weren’t on great terms in 2010, things got worse in 2014 when Kody legally divorced Meri to marry Robyn. Still, they insisted they were spiritually married. Their relationship became increasingly strained. Sister Wives fans and close friends encouraged the mother of one to leave her troubled marriage behind. As much as people hated Kody for treating Meri poorly, they were equally incensed by how Robyn Brown attempted to act friendly, only to stab Meri in the back.

Meri and Kody publicly confirmed the end of their 32-year marriage in December 2022. Meri expressed mixed feelings about the time spent in the marriage but emphasized that she had no regrets, stating, “I have no ‘what-ifs’ during an appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show.

Jenn Sullivan has thoughts about Robyn Brown

Opinions on Robyn Brown are pretty easy to come by. Robyn basically painted a target on her own back with her fake tears and her revisionist take on the Brown family history. Jenn Sullivan, who had a front-row seat for the Brown family’s downfall, has a pretty unique take on Robyn. While fans of the series believe Robyn was purposefully cruel, Jenn thinks her behavior was much less calculated.

People obtained a clip from the upcoming Sister Wives season featuring Jenn’s thoughts on Robyn Brown. In the clip, Jenn tells Meri that she doesn’t think Robyn was purposefully manipulative. Still, she does think she was mean. Jenn noted that Robyn played with Meri’s emotions and took her friendship for granted. She said, “She’d act like she was your best friend and then completely ignore you and hurt your feelings. Like that’s really f****d up. Like either be an a*****e or don’t.” Jenn suggested Robyn’s indecisiveness was crueler than anything else.

Meri has opened up about her lack of connection to Robyn Brown in recent months. She’s made it clear that she has minimal contact with the women she once shared a husband with. Meri has no relationship with Kody Brown. Frankly, it looks good on her. Fans note that Meri looks happier and healthier than ever.
