Harry Hamlin shared that his wife, Lisa Rinna, threatened to kill him while she was struggling with postpartum depression. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who left the show in 2022, recalled having “horrible hallucinations” and claimed she was “psychotic.”

Lisa and Harry had their first daughter, Delilah Hamlin, in June 1998, and their second, Amelia Hamlin, was born in June 2001. Both daughters were featured often on the show, and they’re now successful models and influencers.

“I had horrible postpartum depression, but I didn’t know it,” said Lisa on her new podcast, Let’s Not Talk About The Husband, via Page Six. “I didn’t know what it was. When you have your first baby, you don’t know. You just don’t know.”

Lisa recalled feeling “absolutely hopeless” amid her postpartum depression for over a year after the birth of Delilah. She said it felt like a “huge dark cloud” 24/7, and it returned after Amelia was born three years later.

“You said, ‘I’m gonna kill you,’” Harry stated. “And I said, ‘You better call [your OB-GYN] right now.’ You said, ‘You better watch out. I feel like killing you.’ You said, ‘Keep the knives in the drawer.’”

Though Lisa didn’t remember threatening his life, she indicated that his story lined up with the experience she had.

“I was having horrible hallucinations of killing people, and I needed to take the knives out of the house,” she explained. “And I also had horrible visions of driving the car into a brick wall.”

“I did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or form. It wasn’t about that,” Lisa continued. “It was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations … Looking back, I was completely psychotic.”

She said she had recurring thoughts about “knives.”

According to Lisa, her doctor prescribed antidepressants, which “changed the game” and “worked instantly.” She told new mothers who are suffering to speak out and ask for help.

Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently concluded.
