Kailyn Lowry looks to books to learn new things about herself.

“Reading has always been my escape, but it’s also where I find pieces of myself,” the “Teen Mom 2” alum tells Page Six.

Lowry believes that reading, whether fiction or nonfiction, helps her make sense of not just her own life but life in general in unexpected ways.

She adds, “It’s not just about getting lost in a book—it’s about feeling understood, even if it’s by characters on a page.”

See below for Lowry’s six must-read books.

"Wild Dark Shore" by Charlotte McConaghy

She expresses her deep connection to a particular book, emphasizing how she fell in love with every character and experienced a range of intense emotions such as love, hate, guilt, and pain. The unique setting of the story left a lasting impression on her, making the book truly unforgettable.

"The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah

Reflecting on a book she read in 2024, Lowry reveals that it has stayed with her ever since. She describes it as a story that has the power to shift perspectives completely, prompting readers to view life through a different lens after experiencing it.

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid

“I connected with this book in a way I’ve never experienced before. The similarities between my story and what was on those pages — it was like reading pieces of my own life. I genuinely felt like I was living inside the book. It hit so close to home.”

"By Any Other Name" by Jodi Picoult

“Empowering. Groundbreaking. Painful. Enlightening. This book is all of that and more. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know because it’s the kind of story that stays with you long after you’ve finished it. It really makes you think — and feel — in a way not many books do.”

"Strange Sally Diamond" by Liz Nugent

“This is hands-down the most unique book I’ve ever read. Sally might honestly be my favorite character of all time. The way this story lets you see the world through someone else’s eyes — it’s powerful. It’s raw. It’s real. This book is everything.”

"The Wedding People" by Alison Espach

“I laughed, I cried, and I saw so much of myself in this book. For the first time in a long time, I felt seen — I felt normal. It’s rare to find a story that hits you like that, but this one did.”
