SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Benedictine boys soccer team is ready to hang another championship banner on campus as they start their quest for a state title on Wednesday.
The Cadets come in with an overall record of 10-7-2. They were 6-2 in region competition, which was good enough for the second seed for the region and a home playoff match..
Benedictine started to find a rhythm at the start of March. Since then, they are 9-2 and have outscored their opponents 44-17. They said they hope their offensive explosion continues on Wednesday.
“I think at the beginning of the year, we had a lot we created a lot of chances, but I don’t think our finishing was there,” said junior center attacking midfielder Parker Lewis. “And that’s been one of the main things with the guys. And then I think like defensively, we weren’t that strong in the back, and we made a few changes.”
Benedictine’s match with St. Pius X is April 23 at 7 p.m. at home.
