A 17-year-old Florida boy was arrested last week after he reportedly admitted to pouring bleach into his 77-year-old adoptive mother’s milk in an attempt to poison her.

The woman’s other son called 911, WESH reported.

“We have a 17-year-old here who put Clorox in our milk, attempting to poison our mother, and I don’t know what to do about that,” he said in the 911 call provided by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother told deputies she poured a glass of milk and took a sip, noticing immediately its “intense chemical taste.”  A deputy examined the milk container and convfirmed that it had a strong odor of bleach.

The teen reportedly told investigators he was upset with his mother and didn’t want to live with her. And now he isn’t.

He’s been charged with attempted murder, poisoning food or water, and aggravated abuse of an elderly person, court documents say.

Deputies said the victim didn’t show any symptoms but asked for a medical evaluation.
