Jacksonville leaders will hit the dance floor Saturday for River City Dancing with the Stars, raising funds for youth music education through the JCC.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus is once again stepping into the spotlight with its annual fundraising event, River City Dancing With The Stars — an evening of rhythm, glamour and giving, set to take place Saturday, April 26 at University of North Florida’s Lazzara Performance Hall. Doors open at 6pm.

The popular dance competition pairs Jacksonville-area leaders with professional dancers, as they compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy. Performances will be scored equally by a panel of judges and audience votes, with every dollar raised counting as one vote.

RCDWTS is the largest annual fundraiser for the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC), a nonprofit dedicated to providing exceptional choral education to youth — particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds. The chorus has been a cultural cornerstone in Northeast Florida for over 30 years, offering high-caliber music training, fine arts exposure, and performance opportunities that many children might otherwise never experience.

One of the stars this year is TJ Ward, Executive Director of Project Opioid at JAX Chamber.

“For me, the thing that drew me in was the opportunity to raise funds for young people that normally wouldn’t have opportunities to participate in fine arts, particularly in choral education,” Ward said.

The competition’s format includes judges scoring each routine from 1 to 10 and audience votes cast through donations. All proceeds will directly support JCC’s scholarship fund and outreach programs.
