A shooting during a crowded Easter celebration left one Lake City police officer injured.
LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Lake City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person caught on video appearing to fire gunshots during a busy Easter celebration Sunday night.
A Lake City police officer was injured in a shooting Sunday night. LCPD and another agency were providing crowd control for the annual event, at the Annie Mattox Recreation Center that was attended by a couple thousand people.

Police said during the event, there was an altercation between several people and as authorities attempted to intervene, gunshots were fired.
Investigators released new video Wednesday, showing dozens of people fleeing the area, including a person who is seen turning around and aiming what appears to be a gun.

Officer Marcus Hardison was identified as the officer who was shot. Police said Hardison sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm. He was taken to the hospital and is now recovering.
Investigators said it is unclear at this time whether the person highlighted in the video is responsible for the gunfire that injured Hardison.
“But it has not been ruled out,” Detective Greg Burnsed said in an email response to First Coast News.

Three people were taken into custody Sunday for interviews. Chief of Police Gerald Butler told First Coast News the individuals were arrested for unrelated charges.
Now, investigators are working to identify the person in the video.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact LCPD at 386-752-4343.
