While details of the incident remain unclear, court records indicate that he is being charged with domestic battery by strangulation, as well as a parole violation. He appeared before a judge on April 24, but is still in custody.

Griffith has been arrested several times over the years for domestic violence. He was arrested for domestic violence while dating Jenelle Evans and has had various other arrests since. In 2023, he was arrested twice for violent outbursts. In February 2023, he was arrested for domestic battery by strangulation. According to People, the incident occurred in Florida. In July, Las Vegas police officers arrested Nathan Griffith after he attacked his sister. Strangulation was also cited in that incident.
