BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — Healing Hands Health Center in Bristol will soon offer medical and behavioral health services at its new facility.

The new facility is just 12 feet away from the main Healing Hands Health Center building at 225 Midway Medical Park. The center recently began renovations to connect the two facilities, as well as its dental clinic.

Helen Scott, executive director of Healing Hands Health, said that the center, which has served the region for 28 years, had always wanted to include mental health treatment in its services before launching its behavioral health services in August 2024.

“So, COVID really showed us there was such a need to help with mental health services, and we just want to help the community,” she said. “One thing that we have seen is we added community health workers. And when we added community health workers to our staff, we helped people get their GED who didn’t have it yet.”

“We’ve helped people become employed,” Scott continued. “So we want to help people live their happiest lives that they can. And having behavioral health services will really help people, the community, and help. We want to get people back to work.”

Scott said the new facility is for uninsured or underinsured families. Healing Hands accepts TennCare and Medicaid for adult dental services, but medical and behavioral health treatment is reserved for uninsured individuals.

Healing Hands plans to welcome patients into its new facility in February 2026.

The center has helped more than 116,000 patients in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. To learn more about services or how to help fill its nearly $1 million fundraising gap, visit its website.
