90 Day Fiancé couple Sam Wilson and Citra Wilson (née Herani) have seemingly confirmed that aspects of the reality show are scripted and reshot multiple times.
A new franchise couple was seemingly captured on camera filming with TLC at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by TMZ reporter Charlie Cotton, who shared the footage on TikTok on Tuesday, April 22. In the video, a man could be seen waving a Brazilian flag as his girlfriend or fiancée ran into his arms, with professional cameramen filming the heartfelt greeting. However, the cameras caught the sweet moment not once, not twice, but four times.
“Darn, they’re going for a fourth take,” Charlie could be heard saying in the background as the woman and one of the cameraman, as well as someone who appeared to be a producer, walked up a nearby escalator for the third time to reshoot footage of the couple’s greeting.
Sam, 31, and Citra, 28, left a comment on the video from their shared TikTok account, hinting that they had to go through a similar experience while filming their debut on 90 Day Fiancé season 10.
“HAHAHAHAHA we can relate,” the couple wrote, adding several laughing emojis.
A 90 Day Fiancé fan account, 90 Sips of RealiTea, claimed in the comments on the video that another couple was also spotted filming multiple takes of their airport greeting.
“I posted this scene on Instagram between Shawn and Alliya at the airport and I believe they filmed 4 or 5 different takes as well,” the account comment, referring to 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise couple Shawn Finch and Alliya de Batista.

“I saw a video made by a former 90 Dayer whose NDA is up & she said they often take many takes of the airport arrival scenes,” another fan claimed.
TLC did not immediately respond to In Touch‘s request for comment.
While many fans were in disbelief that the greeting was filmed so many times and appeared to be fake, some argued that there was a reasonable explanation.
“I think they were just getting diff angles prob,” Charlie wrote in response to a fan who said they were “mad” that the “first take isn’t real.”
“Audiences get eight different camera angles, but there’s only two cameras. How do you think that happens?!?” another person wrote.
While Sam and Citra were sly with their response to the video, other 90 Day Fiancé stars have been much more up front with claims that the show is scripted.
“One of the things people don’t realize is that all of the conversations taking place on reality TV are conversations that are being pushed by producers,” 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alum Stephanie Matto said in an April 2024 TikTok video. “If you think you are going to go into any date or any situation while filming a reality TV show and you’re going to get to talk about what you want to talk about, you are sadly mistaken.”
Stephanie, 34, continued, “If they want you to talk about something that makes you super uncomfortable, and they most likely will, you’re going to be talking about that.”
On the other hand, some stars have defended the show. Before the 90 Days season 5 star Ben Rathbun said in a February 2022 Instagram Q&A, “It is very real. It has to be … no one would watch [if it weren’t]. If it’s not real, then it’s boring. So, yeah, they keep it real.”
