Shohei Ohtani was considered the undeniably exceptional baseball player holding the title for the World’s Best Baseball Player. We were all convinced that no one could outshine Ohtani during his prime, especially after his mind-blowing performance on both pitching and hitting. It seemed impossible for anyone to surpass him, until now.

But, at least for today, Aaron Judge is wearing that crown as baseball’s best. (And don’t @ me!)

Ohtani, who made history by emulating Babe Ruth’s two-way skills, appeared to be firmly holding onto the title, especially after his remarkable 50-50 season. However, unexpectedly, Aaron Judge has now overtaken Ohtani and all other players in the league.

As the Yankees faced the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium on Friday, Judge took the lead in every notable statistic. He is currently leading in batting average (.415), on-base percentage (.513), slugging percentage (.734), OPS (1.247), and WAR (2.1). Additionally, he also tops the charts in runs created (36), adjusted batting runs (25), adjusted wins (2.0), and offensive win percentage (.923) – which all sound exceedingly impressive.
