Libby Vincek Petrucci Explained Why Bravo Reality Show Fans Should Be Watching Survivor

Over the last few decades, reality shows have taken the television landscape by storm. Even though millions of people regularly watch reality shows, it has long been pretty obvious that fans can be siloed off into different groups.

A perfect example of that is the fact that Survivor fans typically watch other reality shows with a lot of strategy, like The Traitors or Big Brother. On the other hand, many people have become devotees of the Bravo reality shows, like the Real Housewives franchise.

As someone who has competed on Survivor before, Libby Vincek Petrucci knows that show better than almost anyone. With that in mind, it is fascinating to know why Libby Vincek Petrucci thinks Bravo reality show fans should be watching Survivor.

In April 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Libby Vincek Petrucci.

During that conversation, Libby was asked about people watching Survivor and Bravo reality shows. In response, Libby began by expressing her opinion that Bravo devotees would love Survivor.

I think Bravo fans would love Survivor.

From there, Libby went on to elaborate on why she believes Bravo fans would enjoy Survivor more than they may think.

While talking exclusively to TheThings, Libby explained why she enjoys the Bravo reality shows. “When I watch Bravo, I like to watch it because I think, ‘Oh, they have this life that is more like a fantasy, but it’s still almost relatable. They like the drama and the urge to betray people and things like that.’ I just feel like that’s what people really like when they’re watching Bravo. It’s a mix of reality, drama, and fantasy.”

In April 2025, Libby Vincek Petrucci appeared on the “Vanderpump Robs” podcast, which can be listened to on Apple Podcasts. While appearing on that excellent podcast, Libby agreed with the host about which show is perfect to get Bravo fans to watch as a bridge before you have them watch Survivor. “[The] Traitors is a great bridge!”

Libby then explained that she believes Survivor has similar elements of drama and fantasy as the Bravo reality shows do.

“I feel like that’s what Survivor really gives because there are different types of people on Survivor, all different types. And there is always drama.”

From there, Libby went on to speak about another part of Survivor that she believes Bravo fans will love.

Throughout the history of Bravo’s many reality shows, fans have been blown away by some of the unexpected things that have happened.

During Libby Vincek Petrucci’s aforementioned appearance on the “Vanderpump Robs” podcast, she compared the drama that is seen on Survivor and Bravo reality shows. As Libby explained, it is fun to see which Survivor players will be as dramatic like a Bravo star, since there is no way to predict. “You get the drama from people that you literally don’t know what these people are like. With Bravo people, they’re trained to have drama. So they’re like, ‘Oh, there’s potential. Let me just bring in the drama.’ But with Survivor, you don’t know who is going to be drama.”

While talking exclusively to TheThings, Libby explained that Survivor can be equally unpredictable.

“There is something that the [Survivor] producers can’t really plan for. And I think that that’s also part of Bravo is that they really don’t know what’s going to happen next. They don’t know who’s gonna betray who, where votes are gonna be casted, what kind of challenges are gonna happen, what’s the drama gonna happen in the like, at the food rewards, and, you know, who’s going to align with who.”

As she finished discussing that topic with TheThings, Libby explained one more aspect of Survivor that she thought Bravo fans would enjoy.

“I think that is what’s so cool and so fun about Survivor is that it gives a more, I don’t know if I would say innocent appeal, but it is a more real-life appeal. And, I think that people that watch Bravo would really appreciate that.”

Libby Vincek Petrucci Explained Why She Thinks Survivor Fans Should Also Watch Bravo Reality Shows

Among the most passionate Survivor fans, there are many people who watch the show because of the strategic aspects of the game. With that in mind, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas asked Libby Vincek Petrucci why she thought those fans should also watch Bravo reality shows.

In response, Libby began by telling TheThings that she watches Survivor more than Bravo reality shows.

I actually do watch Survivor more than I watch Bravo.

After revealing that she is a fan of both Bravo reality shows and Survivor, Libby then used her expertise to perfectly answer the question.

First off, Libby told TheThings why she started watching Bravo reality shows to begin with.

“Ever since I started dipping my toes into other reality shows like [Real] Housewives and Summer House and things like that, I have been like, ‘You know, this is actually really fun to watch because it is more of a fantasy view on things. The wealthy, elaborate lifestyles and the drama.’ I started watching it because there were so many things that I did not expect to happen.”

Libby then finished explaining to TheThings why Survivor fans should watch Bravo reality shows by explaining that shows like The Real Housewives are a great stress release.

“It is a nice escape. I think what people like about Survivor is that they want the dream of being on it and it is a nice escape. And I think that Bravo has that nice escape of real life into a reality of other people’s lives that you just can worry about them for a little bit and not worry about yourself.”

Since everyone deals with stress, Libby’s argument was extremely compelling.
