A woman has alleged that she was duped of ₦40 million, some of which she borrowed from bank by a man who promised to supply her goods, claiming that the EFCC is now after her and she has gone into hiding.

This was revealed in a video posted on the popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

In the video, the woman detailed how she took a loan of ₦34 million from a bank in Warri, adding her own ₦6 million to it.

According to her, a man in Warri had promised to supply goods after they reached an agreement. Initially, she transferred ₦10 million to him.

However, the woman claimed that after sending the money, the man continued to send others to her to collect additional funds for various expenses, such as boats and security.

Despite transferring all the money, she alleged that the man refused to deliver the goods and became unreachable.

She further stated that the EFCC had begun searching for her on behalf of the bank, prompting her to flee and hide.

She appealed to the public for help in seeking justice.

Her statement included: “A man in Bayelsa duped me of ₦40 million. He told me he wanted to supply goods for me.”

“The bank lent me ₦34 million, and I added my own ₦6 million. He asked me to send him ₦10 million first, which I did. I have the papers we both signed in court.”

After I sent the money, he sent people to me to collect even more, saying it was for the boat, security, and other things.”

“Once I gave him all the money, he refused to send the goods. Now, the EFCC is looking for me. They came to my house and ransacked it, and I’ve been running and hiding ever since.”

She also claimed that the man’s wife, who is a police officer, threatened to harm her and prevent her from speaking out.

As the post circulated online, concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their thoughts.

See some reactions below:

@grind_charts: “Borrowing what you can’t afford to lose is already a trap. ₦40M lost means two things: greed or ignorance. In both cases, the banks don’t cry with you — they collect.”

@NigerianCos: “Contact VDM with your evidence. We’ll recover your money within a week.”

@Deepphlamez: “You go need evidence o… 40 million no be smallz.”

@Zicky001_: “Thank God very dark man is making the Nigeria judiciary, EFCC and police useless.”
