Bill Belichick’s recent interview on CBS Mornings has sparked major concerns for the legendary head coach. 

During the interview with CBS’s Tony Dokoupil, Bill Belichick discussed various aspects of his football career. The main aim of the interview was to promote his new book, but it ended up attracting attention for different reasons.

His 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, who was described by Dokoupil as ‘a constant presence during the interview,’ was lurking off camera and sparked an extremely uncomfortable moment. 

Dokoupil began quizzing Belichick on the relationship, which has attracted critics for its controversial 49-year age gap, and asked the innocent question of how the couple met. 

Before Belichick, who struck a scruffy figure in a tattered and torn sweatshirt, could even open his mouth to get a word out, a stony-faced Hudson called out, ‘We’re not talking about this.’ 

The awkward moment immediately sparked controversy on social media, with many fans expressing their fears for Belichick’s well-being.

‘My Sunday morning routine is always coffee and CBS Sunday Morning. It’s a feel good show. The opposite of controversial,’ Dave Portnoy posted on X alongside a clip of the interview, which was released on Sunday morning.

‘So image my surprise this morning when they had the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I’ve ever seen. Like I was squirming in my seat.’

Piers Morgan echoed the Barstool Sports founder, insisting that the University of North Carolina head coach needed help. 

‘It was utterly excruciating. Mr Belichick needs a family or friend intervention asap,’ the British media personality wrote, quote-tweeting Portnoy’s post. 

Other NFL fans agreed with many appearing to suggest something troubling was happening behind the scenes.   

‘Yikes: This has to be the most awkward Bill Belichick interview he’s ever done… Something strange is going on with Jordon Hudson,’ one account shared.

‘Did they hold Bill Belichick at gun point during this interview??? Holy hell man,’ another added. 

‘She behaves like a handler…this is so odd. Soooo odd,’ a third chimed in, while a fourth posted: ‘Blink twice if u need help,BB.’

Meanwhile, another concerned fan asked: ‘Is he sane? Is he ok?’

Other concerns were more centered around Belichick’s bedraggled appearance – in particular the raggedy sweatshirt, which had multiple holes in it including a large tear near the front collar. 

‘What’s with the tattered navy sweatshirt,’ one social media user questioned, shocked at Belichick’s choice of atire for national television. 

Another baffled fan shared the sentiment, asking: ‘He couldn’t pick a better sweatshirt!?!?’

Dokoupil began quizzing Belichick on the romance, in particular the critics who have relentlessly trolled the couple for their near half-century age difference but the University of North Carolina head coach brushed off the backlash.

‘[I’ve] Never been too bothered about what everyone else thinks. Just try to do what I feel is best for me and what’s right,’ Belichick, who was bizarrely wearing a sweater with tears in it, bluntly responded. 

Yet, while the head coach’s romance with the former cheerleader has been the subject of many headlines over the past year but for the couple themselves, the topic is seemingly off the table.

The host continued to ask the age-old question of how the couple met – an encounter that is reported to have taken place on a flight – but Hudson swiftly intervened.

The Miss Maine USA hopeful interjected in excruciating fashion to immediately shut the question down. 

Before Belichick could even open his mouth to get a word out, she called out, ‘We’re not talking about this.’ 

The cringe-worthy moment turned even tenser when Dokoupil turned to clarify and Hudson, a thunderous expression on her face, hit back with an emphatic, ‘no.’ 

However, Dokoupil, undeterred, wasn’t afraid to highlight the numerous social media posts Hudson has ceaselessly splashed across her Instagram page of the couple, including a particularly eye-catching one from last Halloween which showed her dressed as a mermaid on the beach while Belichick the fisherman reeled her in. 

The reporter once again attempted to engage the former New England Patriots coach, who had previously opposed the idea of social media apps, on the topic of their very public relationship. 

But yet again, the football icon remained unwieldy as he bluntly responded: ‘I’m on some of those social media platforms but I honestly don’t follow them.’ 

Following the excruciatingly awkward moment, Dokoupil, ever professional, smoothly pivoted back to football.

Hudson, a Miss Maine hopeful, has frequently hit back at critics of their 49-year age gap  

It wasn’t the first time that fans have expressed concern for Belichick amid his romance with his younger lover. 

Hudson sparked fears over their relationship with a bizarre post on social media last week that showed Belichick tucking into a ‘lobster’ dinner with his lover.

The lobster, however, was actually cut-up strawberries, accompanied with Graeter’s Ice Cream and a lemon slice.
